Not all pregnancies affect acne

acne during pregnancyNot all pregnancies have an impact on acne but if you have hormonal acne, it is likely to flare during the first trimester (three months) of your pregnancy.

Fortunately, your acne will probably improve and may even disappear during the last trimester. Breastfeeding is also an excellent way of keeping acne away. Many women with persistent acne also notice that their acne is progressively less severe or disappears with each pregnancy.

There are certain types of acne treatments to avoid if you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant. Please review the acne treatments section for more information or speak to your GP.
